| What is Star Wars:The Musical? |
| Completed in 1999, Star Wars: The Musical is a musical version of Star Wars (A New Hope), written and recorded with original music and lyrics. There are other Star Wars musicals out there but they typically take existing pop songs or broadway show tunes and change the lyrics to fit the Star Wars universe. All of the music here is original, except where the themes of John Willams have been interwoven. The purpose of this site is to entertain fans of both Star Wars and musical theater. |
| Where can I purchase a CD of the songs? |
We offer all of these songs for free and do not profit from the Musical in any way whatsoever. Any CD's you may find for sale are being SOLD ILLEGALLY and without our permission. If you happen to find a CD for sale on Ebay or elsewhere, please contact us immediately. Infauxmedia is the only place to hear Star Wars: The Musical and it is intended to be heard and enjoyed exclusively from this site. However, if you find that your connection is too slow or you wish to have your own personal CD of the songs, we suggest that you download all of the MP3 files and burn them to a CD. How can I make a CD of the songs? Most CD creation software can convert MP3's to CD music tracks. The free version of Musicmatch can also convert MP3 files into WAV files, which can then be burned onto CD. Feel free to make as many copies as you like, but please DO NOT sell them. It wouldn't be fair for someone to have to pay for what we are giving away for free. Many of the songs contain copyrighted material which could also get you into a lot of trouble. |
| How do I hear the songs on this site? |
| Click "The Musical" button and select the song you'd like to hear from the list. If you have Windows Media Player installed on your system and setup properly, you should see controls to play the song just below the lyrics window on each song page. If this is not the case, you can use the "Right-click here to download MP3" link. This will allow you to download the file to your system for use at a later time. You can also left-click this link to listen to MP3 files the way you would normally do on any other music related site. |
| Has this musical ever been performed live? |
| Not by us. The musical is presented here as a concept album. At this time we have no plans for a full script or a staging. |
| Are you going to create musical versions of any of the other films in the saga? |
| We have no plans for such projects. We chose A New Hope because we feel its classic story lends itself to musical theatre more than the other films. |
| Is the music available for others who wish to stage their own production? |
| Yes, anyone who wants to mount their own production of the show is certainly welcome to do so. The only thing we ask in return is that you keep us notified of your progress. And send us a video of the performance if you can. Lead sheets, score, and instrument parts are not available. However, we do have a recording of what we call the "Karaoke" version. You can download the files here. Because this musical is an unlicensed "fan" work we cannot accept any money. For your own legal protection, it's probably a good idea for you not to charge for admission into your production of the show either. Have fun and let us know how it goes. |
